About MCEA

Inspiring the dreamers, thinkers, and creators of tomorrow to explore the frontiers of science and engineering.

Our Purpose

Meteor Crater Education Alliance (MCEA) was formed in November 2022 to bring the wonders of Earth & Space science and the mystery behind Meteor Crater directly to K-12 students and teachers in Northern Arizona. With an extensive range of hands-on STEAM education programs, including onsite field trips, live demonstrations, classroom outreach, and special events, MCEA aims to make science learning exciting and approachable, with content and curriculum that supports Arizona Science Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.

Our Inspiration

Nestled within the rugged expanse of Arizona's high plains, Meteor Crater is an unparalleled testament to the cataclysmic forces that shape our world. It offers an ideal canvas for scientists, educators, and curious minds to unravel the mysteries of impact events. This cosmic classroom, where Apollo astronauts once roamed to refine their skills on their way to the Moon and where Artemis astronauts now train for lunar missions as we prepare for future manned missions to Mars, beckons scientists, scholars, researchers, and science experts from around the globe.

MCEA extends this legacy to foster curiosity, spark imagination, and cultivate a deep connection with our universe, shaping the next generation of scientists, explorers, and critical thinkers.
