Astro Adventurers (K-2)
Embark on a trip round the solar system! Join our team of intrepid space explorers as we search the cosmos for planets and moons. In this wonderous workshop, students will learn about the solar system and its celestial bodies through engaging games and activities. Get to know the planets, moons, and other objects in our cosmic neighborhood!
-
Rock Hounds (K-2)
Get your hands dirty in this hands-on geology lab! Your students will discover and identify rocks and minerals as they become junior geologists. Using real tools like magnifiers, magnets, and hardness tests, our Rock Hounds will uncover the secrets of Earth's treasures. Get ready to rock ‘n’ roll as we dig, observe, and explore – because in Rock Hounds, every rock tells a story!
-
Extreme Earth (3-5)
Welcome to the wild ride known as Planet Earth! We’ll discover the power of volcanoes, the shock of meteor impacts, the rumbling excitement of earthquakes, and other incredible geologic phenomena through fun, hands-on activities and interactive demonstrations. Explore how these events shape our planet and learn to use the tools used by scientists to study these natural wonders. Get ready to shake, rattle, and roll as we explore the explosive forces that make Earth an exciting place to live!
-
Space Junk (3-5)
Get ready for an out-of-this-world challenge with Space Junk! Your team of space engineers will embark on a mission to design, build, and prototype planetary landers using the engineering design process. Armed with creativity and teamwork, students will test their designs, solve exciting challenges, and learn how real engineers tackle the extreme conditions of space. Join us for a hands-on experience where science meets imagination, and every piece of junk holds the key to the stars!
-
Meteorite Mystery (6-8)
A priceless meteorite was stolen from the museum! It’s up to your team of crime scene investigators to combine forensic science techniques with the science of astrogeology to solve this puzzling case. Analyze fingerprints, study meteorite fragments under the microscope, search for trace evidence, and decode clues to discover the fate of this rare scientific treasure. Are you ready to crack the case and find out who stole the meteorite? The challenge awaits!
-
Asteroid Mining: The Next Gold Rush (9-12)
Usher in the future of space exploration in this two-hour workshop that explores the opportunities and challenges of mining asteroids. Learn the fundamentals of astrogeology, engineering, and astrophysics through labs that provide a better understanding of how future space missions may carry out prospecting missions for precious metals and water. With your team, develop innovative ideas on how to mine asteroids using design thinking. Present your groundbreaking proposals on how to turn cosmic rocks into the next big resource boom.
